Twice a year, elementary and middle school families receive a detailed report from their child’s guide. Unlike a traditional report card with grades and test scores, Quest’s reports offer a detailed, qualitative reflection of their child’s growth. These reports provide a comprehensive picture of not only a student’s academic progress, but also social-emotional development, leadership skills, and individual interests—areas that cannot be fully captured by a letter or number.

Throughout the school year, in addition to providing lessons across language arts, science, humanities, and math, guides also teach practical life skills and carefully observe students documenting their engagement, work habits, evolving strengths and areas of challenge, fostering a well-rounded education. Reports contain insights into social-emotional development and executive function, recognizing that academic success is deeply tied to a child’s well-being. Guides also emphasize responsibility, leadership, and community engagement, helping students develop essential life skills while ensuring they meet required academic standards.
While students in Middle School begin to receive traditional grades to prepare for high school and create a more typical transcript, the emphasis remains on personal growth and meaningful learning experiences. Comprehensive narrative reports serve as transcripts, providing a more nuanced and holistic evaluation than any letter or number grade could offer.

These narrative reports offer a detailed record of each student’s journey, providing families with deeper insight into their child’s growth and development as well as the reassurance that their whole child is truly known by their guide. Reports are an important part of our ongoing communication, ensuring that families stay informed and engaged in their child’s education. By prioritizing qualitative data, these reports highlight each child’s unique progress, emphasizing that education goes beyond numbers—it is about building independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
